This fabulous antique Victorian Sterling Silver Scottish Thistle brooch is Circa 1860.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.
Two beautiful glass stones are set into the Silver Thistle gallery simulating the bright orange glow of the Scottish Cairngorm stone.
The Thistle is the national flower of Scotland and has been a symbol of strength, protection and unity within the country throughout history.
The brooch was purchased in London and steeped in Victorian history. A truly wonderful Scottish piece that looks fabulous when worn.
Weighs 4.9 grams.
Measures 30mm across x 34mm down.
